SEVENTH ANNUAL SUMMIT COUNTY CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY
Space is still available for the seventh annual Summit County Citizens Police Academy. If interested, please contact the Frisco Police Department in person at Town Hall or via phone at (970) 668-3579. Training sessions will be held at various locations throughout the county every Wednesday, September 5 through October 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be two Saturday sessions on September 15 and October 6 which will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The course will cover a broad range of topics including the hiring and training process, internal affairs investigations, SWAT and use of force, patrol procedures, criminal investigations, traffic stops, a DUI simulation, Shooting range instruction and a tour of the jail and courts. The program also includes a mock trial scenario, a tour of the Summit County Communications Center(dispatch) and a session on fire agency response.
