Replacement Housing
This is a zoning code technique that requires redevelopment of existing older, more affordable residential units in a community into more upscale units and/or other uses to provide a percentage of the ‘lost’ affordable units whether on site or in another location within the community.
With the high rate of redevelopment of Frisco’s older residential properties, this would provide opportunity for Frisco to ensure a percentage of existing more ‘affordable’ housing is not lost with redevelopment. Staff is looking into these opportunities.
