Frisco’s GHG Emissions Inventory
Frisco’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory
Where Frisco’s Major CO2 Emissions Come from
The Frisco Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory (finalized in 2008) was created to identify the sources of Frisco’s GHG emissions,. It calculates municipal and communitywide global warming pollution (greenhouse gas emissions) using data from 2006, and serves as the baseline against which future progress in reducing emissions and energy spending will be compared. The inventory includes data on electricity, natural gas, nitrous oxides, and transportation fuel used. As identified in the charts above, electricity from buildings accounts for 35.4 % of Frisco’s emissions, and natural gas and propane from buildings accounts for 17.1 % (for a total of 52.5% of Frisco’s emissions coming from buildings). Ground transportation accounts for 47.2%, with boat fuel, refrigerants, etc. accounting for 0.3% of Frisco’s emissions.
