PAYROLL: Paydays are biweekly, received on Fridays. Direct Deposit to your checking or savings account can be set up at any time through the Finance Department.
INSURANCE: The Town of Frisco is self-insured. In brief, medical insurance is available to all full-time employees and their family
members. There is a limited medical plan for year round part time employees working 20 hours per week or more. This limited medical plan is also available to seasonal employees in year two of employment and working 30 hours per week or more. Benefit premiums are payroll deducted, pre-tax. Out-of-pocket co-payments apply to doctor visits, inpatient and outpatient hospitalization and prescription medications.
Insurance coverage will begin the first calendar day of the month following the date of hire. An explanatory booklet will be given to new employees along with an insurance card that should be carried at all times.
Dental insurance is also available to full time employees and their families. Preventitive treatments are covered in full. There is a $50 annual deductible per person applicable to basic and major treatments.
Medical and Dental Premiums: Monthly premiums are bundled for medical and dental. The monthly cost for full time employees is $35.00 for the employee and $50 per covered dependent up to a maximum of $185 per month.
The premium for the limited medical plan for part time and seasonal employees is $50 per month. Dependent coverage is not available through this plan.
Full Time employees also receive vision insurance good for one eye exam each year. New lenses or contacts are covered every year and new frames every two years with a $20 copay. Optional family vision coverage is available at low rates. Certain dollar restrictions apply, depending upon frame selection and lens options.
Life insurance in the amount of one and one-half times the employee’s annual salary is provided by the Town free of charge to the employee.
Long-term disability insurance is also provided at no cost. It will provide a percentage of your wages should you be unable to work for longer than 90 days. Should you be injured at work, on the-job injuries are covered by a workers’ compensation policy.
Optional short term disability insurance is available for the employee at reasonable group rates.
Additional life insurance for both employees and their families is available through a group program at reduced rates.
All employees, with the exception of police, are covered by Social Security. Federal guidelines for amounts withheld apply and are matched by the town. Police personnel are covered by the Colorado Fire and Police Pension Plan. The town also matches this deduction.
RETIREMENT BENEFITS: Retirement benefits for all full-time employees begin the first day of employment. The employee’s contribution goes into a 457 plan is the employee is automatically vested in this plan. The town matches the employee’s contribution by contributing to the 401(a) plan. The Town will begin by contributing an amount equal to 3 percent of the employee’s wages during your first two years of employment; employees will be required to match the Town’s contribution at a one to one ratio. Beginning the third year of employment, the Town’s matching contribution increases 1 percent per year to a maximum of 7 percent. In addition, employees may contribute up to $15,500 per year before taxes. Employees are 33% vested in the Town’s matching contributions after one year of employment, 66% vested after two years and 100% vested after three years of employment. There are varied investment options provided by the plan carrier, and further details can be obtained from the Human Resource Department.
