Help Design Frisco’s Future

The Town of Frisco is beginning a scheduled review of the Design Overlay Districts in the Zoning Ordinance and is looking for the public’s feedback.  Builders, architects, developers, and any other interested citizens are invited to an open house Wednesday, February 25 at the Frisco Town Hall.  In order to maximize input, there will be two sessions that day: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

“We want to know which regulations are currently working for the town, and which ones aren’t,” explains Community Planner Suzanne Kelley.  “We’re looking for constructive ideas and creative suggestions.”

The Land Use Principle Statements in the 2005 Town of Frisco Master Plan call for designs that “enhance Frisco’s mountain character,” and create “unique and connected identities.”  During this review, the Town wants to know if the current overlay restrictions allow the Town to achieve this goal.

After the open house, all ideas will be taken to a Planning Commission worksession for review and input.  With that guidance, staff will begin rewriting the Design Overlay Districts.
