Preferred Plan Created for Additional Recreational Amenities on the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area
The preferred plan for additional amenities at the Peninsula Recreation Area (PRA) is now available for community review. This is the next step in the Town’s effort to gather citizen input as it moves forward on implementing the PRA Land Use Plan. The new amenities include: another lodge building, a tubing hill, terrain park, a BMX/mountain bike park, a small scale ice skating trail and surface, and infrastructure improvements.
In 2007, the community came together in a series of focus group meetings, a community survey, and open house discussions to establish the land use plan. The PRA Land Use Plan recognizes the existing recreational amenities as the core amenities on the site, and identifies and prioritizes additional amenities for implementation.
At the beginning of the year, the Town contracted with the firm of DHM Design to provide engineering, land planning, and architectural services for the PRA. DHM Design assembled an experienced and talented design team specifically to implement the complex and varied program objectives of the land use plan within the collective context of the PRA. Over the last three months, community stakeholders and user groups, and the community at-large have participated in the implementation project; and have provided input and comments regarding the conceptual design and configuration of additional amenities at the PRA.

Please submit your comments to Town staff by Friday, April 10. DHM will present the preferred plan and public comments to the Town Council at the April 14 worksession.
