|October 5, 2011|
|4:00 pm||to||7:00 pm|
The Town of Frisco will be hosting a budget open house on Wednesday October 5th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The intent of the budget open house will be to answer general budgetary questions and to show the public how they can get involved. Information will be provided about how the Town plans the budget for the upcoming year, where revenues come from and how the money is spent. The open house is one of many steps the Town is taking in order to improve public knowledge and involvement in the annual budgeting process.
In addition to the open house, the Town launched a new budget microsite on Friday, September 30. There are featured videos from department heads describing the functions of their department and how they plan their budget. As well there is information on the budget process and how citizens can get involved. Citizens can ask specific questions about the details of the 2012 budget and can vote on policy questions. Feedback from the site will be presented to Council.
Citizens also are encouraged to come to the Council budget worksession where they will be able to provide input to the Council on the draft 2012 budget. For details on when these events will be taking place you can view the budget calendar online at www.friscogov.com/budgetsite/
