A Community Plan is a long range planning tool that communities use to make proactive decisions about what their future will look like. It’s a guiding document that decision makers can use to create public policy and direct capital improvements. This plan will establish a framework that will be used to develop policies, regulations, and priorities for ensuring that Frisco’s future is consistent with our community’s vision and values.  The last Community Plan was developed and adopted in 2011, and a lot has changed since then. This is an exciting time for Frisco; there are major new retail developments, a new workforce housing development with 69 homes, and development on Main Street and in the Central Core. Frisco is changing, and it’s a great time to check in with citizens and find out if the value statements that were developed in 2011 still ring true or what values really resonate with current citizens.

The Town wants this plan to reflect the voice of our entire community. Citizens can be involved through the many opportunities throughout the six to nine month process, including online surveys and small outreach groups that will be created around different topics. The July 11th event is truly the project’s kickoff and the Town would love to see every possible community member attend. The goal of this meeting is to bring people together to share ideas and to find out what people love and value most about Frisco. The Town also wants to encourage citizens to think deeply about what Frisco’s greatest challenges and opportunities are. A reason that is often heard on why people love Frisco citizens often identify Frisco’s unique sense of community when discussing what they love most about Frisco.  The Town wants to continue to foster that sense of community. Frisco citizens are a group of dynamic, active and involved people and Town leaders are looking forward to learning what people have to say about their vision for Frisco’s future.

If citizens can’t make meetings and want to learn more about this process, a project website,, has been created where people can go to stay up to date on events and opportunities for input. This webpage will link to survey and meeting materials so if citizens have missed something, they may still follow along with the planning process.
