Meadow Creek Pond Reopens for Ice Skating

In early December, ice skating at Meadow Creek Pond needed to be closed to ice skating due to ice fishing holes that were drilled in three locations on the pond, and subsequently, caused the pond surface, which was cleared for skating, to be flooded with water. Now due to the hard work and diligence of the Frisco Public Works Department, Meadow Creek Pond has reopened to ice skating. The surface is still a little bumpy but skating is very doable. Public Works staff will continue to work diligently to improve the skating surface.

The Details

  • Meadow Creek Pond, behind Walmart in Frisco, is open for free public skating from dawn until 10:00pm.
  • The pond area is lit until 10:00pm.
  • ‘No fishing’ signs are posted around the pond, as auger holes and the related water flooding the ice rink create an unsafe and un-fun ice skating surface.
  • Ice fishermen/women are asked to ice fish elsewhere.
