Following the growth of online rental platforms, such as AirBnB and HomeAway in recent years, the Town of Frisco is in the process of developing an ordinance specific to short-term rentals (STRs). This important effort will enhance the Town’s ability to ensure compliance, address neighborhood concerns and begin collecting the information necessary to analyze the true impacts of the STR industry in the community. The community is encouraged to get involved and provide input, as the Town develops this ordinance.
The public was invited to a Community Conversation on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, and there were 30+ attendees at this Community Conversation. There have also been numerous focus groups with stakeholders. Outreach has been intended to provide opportunities for the community to give meaningful input, and in that spirit, the Town of Frisco is also seeking input through an online survey, which will be available until October 1, 2018- Take Short Term Rental Community Survey Here.
Currently, a discussion of STRs and related public input is scheduled for the October 9, 2018 during the Frisco Town Council work session, and the first reading of the STR ordinance is planned for the Town Council regular meeting on October 23, 2018.
