On Saturday, October 13th Make a Difference Day is returning to Summit County after a 2 year hiatus. Make a Difference Day is a national event inspiring volunteers to give back to their local communities. This year 4 different non-profits will be hosting projects in each town. We would like to encourage volunteers to join us for the Annual Make a Difference Day on October 13th from 9 am until noon, with a lunch to follow at The Frisco Day Lodge.

In Frisco, Prepare to get wet and muddy as we volunteer with SOS Outreach to take advantage of the low water levels and clean up the items that have fallen overboard into Dillon Reservoir.  Bring muck boots, waders and any other shoes that can withstand the muddy shorelines.

In Breckenridge will be cleaning up the Valley Brook Cemetery – 900 Airport Road, in support of the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance. Please dress for outdoor work with gloves and closed toe shoes and please share with anyone who lives in or loves Breckenridge! Space is limited to 20 adults. Kids are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

In Dillon come help High Country Conservation Center build a Shed at the Dillon Valley Community Garden.  Volunteers will meet at The Community Garden at Dillon Valley Elementary School for some harvest season volunteer fun with a goal to complete construction of the new garden shed and tent weights. This directly impacts HC3’s Grow To Share Program.

“I am just so dang excited to see this event return to summit county I could just scream! Many hands make light work and bringing so many volunteers together to help our local non-profits accomplish these projects is a true sense of the word community!” said Miranda Fisher, who spearheaded the return of Make a Difference Day.
