Snow Removal Information

Snow removal operations start in November and usually end in April, depending on snowfall. In addition to the Town right-of-way (Town property), sidewalks in the core area of Town and a majority of bike paths are included in our snow removal operations.

Parking

In order to accommodate year-round maintenance and snow removal needs, there is no parking on Town streets, alleys, or right-of-way during designated times:

  • Core area of Town including Main Street, Granite Street, Galena Street, and the adjacent alleys and avenues: 2:00am – 6:00am
  • Residential Streets/Alleys: 12:00am – 6:00am

Parking is prohibited during these times to provide safety to residents and their vehicles, snow removal vehicles, and Public Works employees.

All vehicles that are in violation of these restrictions are subject to towing (at owner’s expense) in accordance with Ordinance Section 177-6 of the Traffic Code.

Private Contractors’ Responsibilities Regarding Snow Removal

Private contractors must place snow on the property that they are plowing. Placing, dumping, or pushing snow onto Town streets, alleys, or rights-of-way from adjacent properties is prohibited by Ordinance 127-38.

Property Owner’s Responsibilities Regarding Snow Removal

It is the property owner’s responsibility to keep sidewalks clear of all snow and ice, and placing, dumping, or pushing snow onto Town streets, alleys, or rights-of-way is prohibited by Town of Frisco, Ordinance 127-38.

Public Work’s goal is to have all streets plowed by early morning for your safety. During plowing operations, snow berms will be created across private driveways. It is the property owner’s responsibility to remove these berms, and place the removed snow on their property. The snow may not be placed back onto Town streets, alleys, or right-of-way.
