The Town of Frisco and the Frisco Arts and Culture Council (FACC) are seeking a local/regional artist to design the 2025 Frisco Wassail Days mug. In 2024, the Town of Frisco distributed a record-setting 2,200 mugs. Artists from Summit, Park, Lake, Eagle, and Clear Creek Counties are eligible to apply. Applicants have until March 31, 2025 to complete the online application and submit images of their previous work, showcasing their artistic style. A mug design is not requested as part of the application and will only be developed once an artist is selected in late April. To apply, artists are asked to submit their application form with images using the form below, by March 31, 2025.
Project Goals
Previous Wassail Day mugs had a wide variety of colors, themes, and designs centered around the essence of Frisco. The mug design should be original, reflective of the artist’s style, and convey an appreciation of all things Frisco. Artists should look at Frisco’s culture, history, organizations, and the natural/built environments for inspiration, with consideration for the design placement on the mug and the intended audience.
FACC anticipates selecting the artist in April 2025 with a first version of the design due in May 2025, and a final design due in June 2025. The Town of Frisco is responsible for ordering the mugs with the final design and will reserve four mugs for the artist and one mug to be displayed at the seasonal Wassail Days History exhibit at the Frisco/Copper Visitor Information Center.
Honorarium
The honorarium is $400, which shall constitute full compensation for all services, goods, and expenses to be performed for designing the 2025 Wassail Days mug.
