Pioneer Park Update

Pioneer Park with construction underway and construction equipment

The primary goal of the Pioneer Park project is to improve and revitalize Pioneer Park to better serve the broader community through additional uses, features for a variety of ages, improved connectivity, and other site amenities. The project scope includes tennis court rebuild and resurfacing, playground equipment, walkways, a boardwalk, parking, fencing, seating, boulders, landscaping improvements, a halfcourt basketball amenity, a practice wall, player canopy and bench, hammock and slackline posts, signage, and a restroom facility. Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) Strong Communities funding and Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) grant funding are being used for this project, in addition to Town of Frisco funding.

October 2026 Pioneer Park Update

Construction is moving forward at Pioneer Park, with several important milestones recently completed and additional work planned over the coming weeks.

  • The Town of Frisco received the building permit for the new public restroom facility during the week of October 18, 2026, allowing the project to move into its next phase of construction.
  • Civil contractors are currently on site completing underground utility work and preparing the park for new amenities.
  • The water connection has been established, and crews are preparing for electrical and sewer connections.
  • Final utility tie-ins and associated asphalt restoration are anticipated to be completed next year when weather conditions allow for proper paving.

What’s Happening Next?

Beginning October 25, 2026, crews will focus on concrete work throughout the park, including:

  • Pouring foundations for the new public restroom facility.
  • Completing foundations for the new playground features.
  • Installing the foundations for the tennis court posts.

Once this work is complete, the construction team plans to transition into vertical construction of the restroom building, weather permitting.

Looking Ahead

As winter approaches, the Town and its contractors will continue making progress on the portions of the project which can be completed safely and effectively under seasonal conditions. Some remaining work, including final utility connections and asphalt restoration, will carry into 2027.

These improvements are part of the Town’s ongoing investment in Pioneer Park, providing updated recreational amenities and a new public restroom to better serve residents and visitors.

The Town appreciates the community’s patience as construction continues and look forward to sharing additional progress updates as the project takes shape.
