The Town of Frisco invites community members of all ages to join the conversation about the future of Pioneer Park at a fun and interactive design workshop on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Frisco Town Hall (updated weather location), located at 1 Main Street in Frisco.
The “Design Your Own Park” event will give the community the opportunity to share ideas, explore design options, and help shape the next chapter for one of Frisco’s beloved neighborhood parks. Attendees can enjoy free fall snacks and hot cider, while participating in hands-on activities, from sketching ideas to adding thoughts to interactive displays.

Background on Pioneer Park
In 2019, the Town adopted the Neighborhood Parks Master Plan to guide future investment in parks, open space, and recreational facilities. The plan identified a need to revitalize Pioneer Park and proposed a conceptual vision for improvements.
During that process, community members highlighted a variety of challenges, including:
- Limited visibility
- Unclear access to the tennis courts
- General need for improved amenities and maintenance
Desired improvements included:
- Retaining and enhancing the tennis courts and related amenities
- Preserving mature trees and natural areas while improving drainage and access
- Adding restrooms, signage, and parking improvements
- Clarifying winter uses and snow storage strategies
The Neighborhood Parks Master Plan included a conceptual plan for Pioneer Park. However, this concept did not account for the existing wetlands and has since been informed by additional feedback from the community, including interest in amenities such as basketball courts. The needs of Pioneer Park are also anticipated to be different today than they were in 2019, due to the construction of 54 workforce housing units at 602 Galena St., which is in close proximity to Pioneer Park. This housing project is anticipated to be completed in 2026.
