From April 24-28, the Town of Frisco will be adding striping and reconfiguring stop signs in the Granite Street area. These improvements were recommended in conjunction with the Complete Streets Plan, adopted by Frisco Town Council in March 2022. The Complete Streets Plan is intended to improve the downtown core area streets to better accommodate vehicular, pedestrian, and bike travel. The area addressed in this plan is bordered by Galena and Granite Streets to the north and south and extends from Madison Avenue to the Frisco Bay Marina to the east and west.
The Town of Frisco contracted with Toole Design Group to create the Complete Streets Plan in order to reach Frisco’s goals around safety and accessibility, and subsequently, Toole Design Group recommended some specific “quick-build” improvement projects in November 2022, which could be implemented on a quicker timeframe in 2022 and 2023. These improvements included stop sign configuration and striping recommendations, which were made to encourage safer crossings on Granite Street and to improve the experience of every user. The Town chose to implement these changes in April 2023, as this is a quieter time of year and better weather conditions are likely.
Improvements and Changes
Granite Street at Madison Avenue
The following changes will be implemented at the Granite Street and Madison Avenue intersection:

- The proposed double-yellow centerlines will discourage drivers from encroaching into the path of oncoming drivers.
