The Town of Frisco invites community members to continue to shape the next chapter of Pioneer Park by participating in two interactive open houses in December. These sessions will give the community an opportunity to explore alternative layout concepts, share ideas, and guide the design of a refreshed and more welcoming neighborhood park. These two open houses, where park layout options will be reviewed, are the result of community feedback gathered from September through November at local events, through interviews, at a ”design your own park event”, from a community survey, and from the comments received on the interactive board at Pioneer Park.
An in-person open house will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Frisco Town Hall. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual online open house will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm on Zoom, with the link available at FriscoPlan.com.
In-Person Open House on December 15, 2025 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Community members are invited to Frisco Town Hall for an engaging, hands-on open house hosted by Town staff and the project design team on Monday, December 15 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Community members will have the opportunity to explore draft park concepts, ask questions, and share what elements matter most through a dot-voting activity and comment boards. Feedback will help identify a preferred direction for the park’s future improvements, including court space, nature play, trails and access, signage, gathering areas, and the park’s overall character. All ages are welcome to attend, and free festive snacks and drinks will be provided. Participants are invited to drop in anytime between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.
Virtual Online Open House on December 18, 2025 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Community members are invited to join Town of Frisco staff and the project team for a virtual open house on Zoom to review concept alternatives for Pioneer Park and share feedback. During the session, staff will walk through an interactive digital storyboard, explore key features of each concept, and gather community input through digital voting, chat responses, and Q&A. Participation in this event will guide the development of a preferred concept for the park’s future enhancements. All ages are welcome, and the meeting will be recorded for those unable to attend. The digital storyboard and voting options will also be available online until 12:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Background on Pioneer Park
In 2019, the Town adopted the Neighborhood Parks Master Plan to guide future investment in parks, open space, and recreational facilities. The plan identified a need to revitalize Pioneer Park and proposed a conceptual vision for improvements.
During that process, community members highlighted a variety of challenges, including:
- Limited visibility
- Unclear access to the tennis courts
- General need for improved amenities and maintenance
Desired improvements included:
- Retaining and enhancing the tennis courts and related amenities
- Preserving mature trees and natural areas while improving drainage and access
- Adding restrooms, signage, and parking improvements
- Clarifying winter uses and snow storage strategies
The Neighborhood Parks Master Plan included a conceptual plan for Pioneer Park. However, this concept could not account for the workforce housing now being built on Galena Street and has since been informed by additional feedback from the community, including interest in amenities such as basketball courts. The needs of Pioneer Park are also anticipated to be different today than they were in 2019, due to the construction of 54 workforce housing units at 602 Galena St., which is in close proximity to Pioneer Park. This housing project is anticipated to be completed in 2026.
