To support Summit County’s communitywide goal to increase landfill diversion to 40% by 2035, High Country Conservation Center, with support of the Towns and Summit County government, is introducing “Pay as You Throw” (PAYT) and “Universal Recycling Ordinances” (URO). Developing consistent recycling ordinances across all local government jurisdictions has been shown to dramatically increase recycling in communities.

Universal Recycling will ensure that everyone in Summit County has access to recycling and applies to businesses or residents that share a dumpster for trash and/or recycling service. Universal Recycling will require that all businesses have recycling collection if they already have trash collection.

The ordinances and implementation plan will be created by engaging local stakeholders to ensure the plan is tailored to Frisco and the Summit County community.

This meeting is one of three public forums, and is for Summit County business owners and HOA/property managers.

Attend this meeting to:

  • Understand possible upcoming changes to your trash and recycling collection
  • Ask questions about these potential new ordinances
