On June 27, 2023, Frisco Town Council approved Resolution 23-22 which established the Frisco Community Housing Development Authority (FCHDA). Pursuant to the authority granted by Section 29-4-205(2) C.R.S., all members of the Town Council of the Town of Frisco are appointed the Commissioners of the Authority. The Mayor shall ex officio be Chair of the Commission, with the Mayor Pro Tem holding the Vice-Chair title.
There are significant benefits for a potential affordable housing developer to have a housing authority as a partner in a housing project, including certain property tax and sales tax exemptions for the project which can be a critical component for investors. The Town anticipates pursuing multiple housing projects in the future, where the Frisco Community Housing Development Authority (FCHDA) could be a valuable tool in supporting the creation of workforce and affordable housing.
