Electric Carshare Program Launches in Frisco

The Town of Frisco in partnership with Xcel Energy and Colorado CarShare is excited to announce the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) carshare program in Frisco. The program offers residents and visitors the option to reserve one electric carshare vehicle, located at the 3rd Avenue charging stations, just off of Main Steet. This program aligns directly with the Town’s commitment to providing quality core services, that reduce the effects of climate change and support a thriving economy through mobility improvements.

“EV carsharing is a great option for residents to reduce car ownership or for visitors who plan to leave their car at home. It’s also a great way for local residents to try an EV for the first time.” stated Frisco Environmental Programs Manager, Hilary Sueoka.

Colorado CarShare is a non-profit organization that operates over 75 carshare locations throughout Colorado, with four locations in Summit County. With help from Xcel Energy, who provided funding for carshare charging stations to be installed adjacent to the existing chargers on 3rd Avenue, Xcel also provided rebates to Colorado CarShare for the EV. A second vehicle will be added at the Frisco location at a later date, once the new charging stations are installed. All carshare vehicles will be equipped for Summit County driving, including snow tires, ski racks, and a bike rack during the relevant season.

How to reserve Frisco’s CarShare vehicle

To use the vehicle, the first step is to sign up for membership at and use the promo code FRISCO_X which will waive the application fee and will add $50 in CarShare credits to the first 100 new Frisco members. Members simply retrieve the vehicle at the time of their reservation and return it to the same spot when their trip is complete.
