Frisco Bay Marina Hosts Summit Safety Expo

On Thursday, July 27, 2023, the Frisco Bay Marina is hosting the Summit Safety Expo from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The Summit Safety Expo is a joint project between multiple Summit County government agencies, to provide information and resources to the community about how to minimize preventable injuries. This event is open to anyone who is interested in summer safety topics that include water safety on Dillon Reservoir, hiking safety, and more.

There will be eight stations where community members can participate in an activity, while learning about summer safety topics presented by public safety experts. Exhibitors attending the Summit Safety Expo include:

  • Centura Health Trauma Program Specialist: Distracted driving
  • Sheriff’s Resource Officer: Gun safety and gun locks
  • Water Ranger: Water safety on Dillon Reservoir
  • Search and Rescue: Hiking safety and the purpose of search and rescue
  • Summit Fire: Know your exits
  • Red, White and Blue Fire: Bike safety
    • Children who would like to participate in the bike rodeo must bring a bike and helmet.
  • Public Health: Community resources
  • Animal Control: Safe practices around domestic animals

Paid parking is available at the Frisco Bay Marina from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for $0.75 per half hour; the first 30 minutes of parking are free. Located on the shores of Dillon Reservoir at the eastern end of Frisco Main Street, the Frisco Bay Marina is where lake life meets quintessential mountain town. At just over 9,000 feet in elevation, this certified clean marina is an ideal access point to Dillon Reservoir.
