The new Energize Colorado Gap Fund program is now accepting applications. Funded by the State of Colorado’s Coronavirus Relief Fund, the program will provide more than $25 million in small business loans and grants to boost small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
Sole proprietors, businesses and non-profits with less than 25 full-time employees can apply for up to a $15,000 grant and a $20,000 loan, for a possible combined total of $35,000 in financial assistance. Grants can be used for a wide variety of purchases to support business recovery, such as purchase of propane heaters or tents to expand capacity outdoors safely through the winter months.
The application process is not first-come, first-served and will be distributed in phases. Applicants are encouraged to be thoughtful in their responses as not all applications are guaranteed approval.
Applicants need to demonstrate and clearly articulate through writing, the economic hardship their organization is experiencing, along with their choice of documentation such as bank records, point of sale receipts, profit and loss statements, or other documents demonstrating economic harm.
Energize Colorado will provide interested applicants with assistance during the application process through a mentorship program. Applicants can call the Energize Colorado hotline, open seven days a week from 6:00am to 6:00pm at 1-800-471-0628 with any questions, or email GapFundSupport@energizecolorado.com
