Frisco Police Seeking Public’s Assistance in Criminal Tampering Case

On the morning of Wednesday, September 27, the Frisco Police Department received reports of at least three suspected cases of 2nd degree criminal tampering in the Frisco Station shopping center parking lot. This is the shopping center on Frisco’s Summit Boulevard where both Safeway and Walmart are located. The three reports involved the loosening of lug nuts on vehicle tires, but no theft or apparent intent to steal. Reporting drivers informed police that they noticed a wobble and/or a noise in their vehicle when driving and stopped to discover that the lug nuts on their vehicle tires were loosened to the point where they could be taken off using just their fingers.

After gathering and reviewing video from the area, the Frisco Police Department has identified two suspects in these cases of criminal tampering, a white female and a black male who appear to be driving a white BMW sedan. The Frisco Police Department is releasing photographs of the suspects and their vehicle in the hopes that the public will be able to assist them in identification.

The public is asked to not approach or confront these suspects, but instead, to call the Frisco Police Department at 970-668-3579 during office hours from 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday or to call Summit County’s non-emergency dispatch phone number at 970-668-8600 outside of these office hours. Callers should be prepared to provide the time and location of a possible sighting or the names of the suspects to police. In the case of an emergency, please call 911.
